A Wonderfully Ordinary Day

On one of those cold, grey winter days when no one really wants to go out and there's nothing in particular planned, we often find ourselves by the river in Kingston. Armed with bread and three very loud voices you would have thought all those swans and ducks might have shied away from my boisterous crew but the promise of stale bread seemed to win them over quite nicely.

The ran, they skipped, they giggled and even had a few chats with the swans along the way.

I love it when the day ends up being something completely different to what you thought it would be. Thank goodness for these three bundles of energy we call our children.  They keep us on our toes, looking at life with fresh and innocent eyes. Seeing the beauty and joy in even the simplest of things.

  1. I love this post! The photos are beautiful! It's amazin how much joy the children get from feeding them! x

  2. These kind of days are often the best! I think I've sat on the waterfront along there having a few ciders with a twitter friend a few summers ago. It's a lovely spot for people watching :)

  3. Beautiful photos. My children love feeding the ducks, too. They make something quite ordinary into something very special.

  4. It looks like a lovely day out, it's always great to just get out for some fresh air. It looks like a fab place to be able to go for an amble along with your three to feed the swans and ducks. I think that the promise of stale bread is always a higher priority than the issue of loud voices. Thanks for linking up with Country Kids.

  5. Gorgeous photos, sounds like it was a fab day!
