Brunch - Daddy Style

While a large part of the UK has been enjoying/complaining about the recent snow, we have been left wanting in our neck of the woods. So it's no surprise that when a light dusting happened our way on Saturday the kids literally went crazy. Sadly, the excitement was short lived. It was simply a dusting that melted as quickly as it started but it definitely got their attention.  They spent an hour staring out the window willing Mother Nature to rev up the snow machine.

The disappointment was soon forgotten as, being Saturday, it was Daddy Brunch Day. An English Breakfast with a Spanish twist of jamón serrano.  This is a relatively new tradition J has started with great gusto - full charge of the kitchen, preparing, serving and tidying up! I'm not complaining at all...
With our busy lives and crazy schedules it's lovely to all hang out and enjoy a meal around the table as a family once in a while.  The simplest things are usually the best.

  3. Gorgeous photos Xandi! What a lovely tradition to start...I just need to go and have a word with my husband ;) And I hope the children weren't too disappointed with the snow. Thankfully we haven't had too much here except up on the hills. xx

  5. What a lovely start to the weekend! We got our 2 hour light dusting of snow last week too. Fortunately it was on a day we could go and play in it before it melted. I just adore your house too - we have the chair version of your sofa or something very similar anyway. Where is all your kid clutter though ;-)
